6. Katara – 124m (408.1 ft)

Motor Yacht Katara currently ranks the 18th largest in the world. Built by Lurssen in 2010, Katara like many vessels on this list is a very private yacht and therefore little is known about her interior layout and styling, other than it was designed by Alberto Pinto. Espen Oeino who has also worked on the likes of Solandge and Silver Fast, is responsible for her exterior design.

Launched in secrecy, Katara was delivered to her owner in 2010. Capable of carrying up to 34 guests as well as 95 crew members.

On-board and stowed on Katara’s forward deck are two Pascoe Tenders; a fully Lloyds Register certified 6.2m SOLAS Rescue Tender and a 6.2m Shuttle Tender. Both tenders match the yachts external colour scheme. The Pascoe tenders fulfill all the crew and water sports duties required by a yacht of this size.

5. Maryah – 125m (410.1 ft)

At number 17 is Maryah. Launched by Elefsis Shipyard in 2014, she has a very interesting history, having started life as a Russian research vessel. Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, Maryah adheres to full SOLAS regulations meaning she can accommodate up to 54 guests on-board.

The London-based H2 Yacht Design are responsible for her interior and exterior styling including her six decks and a number of luxury features such as a large nightclub, fully equipped spa, games room, sushi bar, cinema and helicopter platform.

Maryah currently carries two Pascoe tenders. The SY10 provides fast transport for guests, with a maximum speed of over 65 knots despite an endless specification of luxury extras. The 700HP supplied by a pair of Mercury Verado outboards makes this the perfect owner’s high-speed toy. A second 7.4m Shuttle Outboard covers water sports and crew duties and can achieve an equally impressive 48 knots.

4. Serene – 133.9m (439.3 ft)

At 133.9m Motor Yacht Serene is now the 14th largest yacht in the world. She was launched in 2011 by Fincantieri Yachts and is thought to have been one of the most technically advanced builds to date.

Serene’s engineering and exterior design is the work of Espen Oeino incorporating 7 decks, two helicopter landing pads, submarine hangar and internal salt water pool which can be adapted for tender docking.

Her interior styling by Reymond Langton Design is said to encompass luxury furnishings and seating features throughout the living areas. Serene can accommodate 24 guests in her 15 cabins including 1 VIP suite, 10 double guestrooms and 1 twin. She also features a number of amenities such as; a hot and cold Jacuzzi, outdoor cinema, snow room, jet stream swimming pool, indoor climbing wall and under water viewing room.

Working closely with the Owner during the initial design stage, the SY10 Cabin Tender is specified as a Guest launch and features an automatic anchoring system, day head and galley to enable the Owner to spend the day away from the yacht at a secluded anchorage, or touring the smaller coastal regions not accessible in a yacht of this size. The second tender is a 7.4m Shuttle, which is used for crew duties and water sports and features such custom accessories as a substantial ice chest for transporting fresh fish.

3. Topaz – 147m (482.3 ft)

At number 6 is Topaz which was built by Lurssen at their Breman Shipyard in Germany and is 147m in length.

Tim Heywood is responsible for her exterior styling consisting of 8 decks and Terrence Disdale the interior styling. As with many megayacht’s, Topaz is extremely private and so little is known about her interior detail. It is thought however, that many of the furnishings are were styled around a ‘beach house’ theme.

Built to Lloyds Register classification, Topaz can accommodate up to 64 passengers in her bespoke guest rooms. Stand-out amenities on this yacht include; an elevator, on-deck Jacuzzi, two helicopter landing pads, a swimming pool, fitness hall, a cinema and a large conference room. In addition to a whole array of toys and tenders specifically; jet skis, a small catamaran, mini-submarine and of course to be on this list, a Pascoe SY10 tender.

The SY10 Open was originally specified as an ‘Escape Craft’ for another project and as such features custom built twin 390hp diesel engines and Mercury Racing drives, Fabio Buzzi designed seats and racing derived console controls and instrumentation. The 65+ knot top speed makes this an ideal fast transit tender for a large yacht that is regularly moored off-shore and also is a great addition to the guest entertainment facilities.

2. Dubai – 162m (531.5 ft)

Launched by Platinum Yachts in 2006, at 162m LOA Dubai is ranked as the 3rd largest yacht in world.

Construction originally started in the 1990’s as a joint project between Blohm and Voss and Lurssen, however the project stopped and was acquired for completion by Platinum Yachts in 2001. Exterior styling of her steel hull and aluminum superstructure is the work of renowned designer Andrew Winch, while her interior was designed by Platinum Yachts.

Dubai can accommodate a total of 115 guests & crew over her 7 decks. She also features a show piece circular staircase, mosaic swimming pool, several Jacuzzi’s and a heli-deck capable of accommodating a helicopter of up to 9.5 tonnes.

Dubai carries two 10m Pascoe SY10 tenders, one a closed cabin version Owner’s VIP launch and the other a multipurpose Open version.

These Ken Freivokh Design styled tenders are the sister-vessels of the pair of SY10 tenders delivered to the largest sailing yacht in the world at the time, Maltese Falcon.

1. Eclipse – 162.5m (533.2 ft)

In 2013 Eclipse was overtaken as the largest yacht in the world by the 180 meter Azzam.

This beautiful yacht boasts interior and exterior styling by Terence Disdale. She can accommodate up to 36 guests in 18 staterooms, as well as up to 70 crew members.

Eclipse has many luxurious amenities such as; two swimming pools, one being 16 meters long (which is the largest on any yacht). Two helicopter pads, storage hangar for a third helicopter, dance floor, spa, deck Jacuzzi, beach club, gym and swimming platform. Additionally, she features an anti-paparazzi system which uses modern light technology to overexpose an image, if taken of the yacht.

Stowed in the spacious tender garage is the Pascoe 9.6m SL Limousine tender. Delivered in 2015, she is as luxurious as her mothership and amongst a host of high end amenities features a climate controlled cabin & superb high fidelity sound system.
